I have been using CPAP for about 1 year. My first machine was S8 Autoset. Now i want to give CPAP a try. I am not sure what pressure is right for me.
My Data
Leak: Median 0.0 L/Min. / 95. Perzentile 12.0 L/Min. / Max 16.8 L/Min.
AHI: 0.1
Autoset Mode: Min. 6.4 / Max. 10.00
EPR: 2
Median 6,7 / 95.Perzentile: 7,6 / Maximum: 8,3
Thanks,

Re: Need Help - CPAP Pressure Settings
Normal rule of thumb is to set to 95th percentile: so 7.6. Note you need to insure no major leaks.
Re: Need Help - CPAP Pressure Settings
If you're going to use an EPR setting of "2", I'd suggest setting the CPAP pressure at "10".Bikersguide wrote:I have been using CPAP for about 1 year. My first machine was S8 Autoset. Now i want to give CPAP a try. I am not sure what pressure is right for me.

Re: Need Help - CPAP Pressure Settings
The thing to remember about EPR is that it reduces you "effective" pressure on exhale. So, if you're inclined to have apneas at the point where your exhale effort ends and your inhale effort begins, then you need to be mindful of that. EPR drops the pressure in actual centimeters all the way through the exhale effort by the EPR setting. So, if you're using a setting of "2", then your exhale pressure is reduced by that many centimeters.
If you're using a CPAP setting of 7.6 and an EPR setting of "2), you will only have an "effective" pressure is 5.6......as you start to inhale. If that presents problems, you may need to raise your CPAP pressure to compensate for it.

Re: Need Help - CPAP Pressure Settings
Back to Autoset Mode: Min. 6.0 / Max. 8.00 / EPR: 0
AHI: 0
Have tested cpap mode for about 1 week with a pressure of 9 and could not tolerate the pressure. Autoset Mode is better for me!
