Aromatherpy for CPAP

Just have to report, that I had bought the aromatherapy stuff from our WONderful sponsor cpap.com, and used it last night for the first time. Used the scent "spice"...and you know I've never thought there was anything to aromatherapy, but I now have to back up and say I might have been wrong about that. Last night was night 6 on the mask, and I found myself thinking about the scent of citrus with just a hint of spice INSTEAD of thinking about going to sleep with the mask.....and I had the easiest night so far. I think the brain did think of the smell and accepted the mask a little bit easier. I would definitely recommend trying the aromatherapy. I had to sit the little "table" that holds the aroma wafer up a little higher to be outside the air vent on my DeVilbiss Intellipap, but that worked okay too.

Yep, love the Pur-sleep! I use clear and peace together. Have for years now. The clear helps keep the sinuses happy, and the peace seems to make me sleep deeper and longer. The owner, Bret, is a forum member! I have also used the Pur-sleep as a room freshener. Just a few drops on a cotton ball in the corner of a room(window sill works great) and the room is totally refreshed, but not overpowered like a spray.

My favorite so far is Anise pure essential oil which is a little over $5 for a lifetime supply (available from your local health food store). But then I'm a licorrice fiend. A drop is almost too much. Pure vanilla extract from your kitchen cupboard is good. I also use the PUR.

I bought the kit and liked everything except that stupid paper holder. It is crap. If they had a plastic or something more sturdy to hold the wafer thing I would love it.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed by that. I almost called to tell them they had forgotten to send the holder. I'm thinking a large paperclip in a base of modeling clay would work to hold the wafer. Will try it as soon as I get around to getting the clay. Or maybe I'll snitch some of my grandson's Play Doh.

you mean they don't still come with a ceramic tray? That's what I got when I ordered mine.

Yeah, they've revised it. No more flannel pads and ceramic trays.

I discovered that the ceramic tray wouldn't work well with my old RemStar "tank". I took the flannel pad and clipped it to a "bulldog" clip, the kind with a magnet on the back so you can clip things to your fridge or file cabinet. The kind that is basically two metal plates and a spring. I then stand that on edge on the table, and it holds the flannel pad up high enough to reach the tank's higher air intake.

I've seen something for sale recently (by another company) that is a disposable "pad" of some sort that you slip between your pillow and the pillowcase, and it gives off aromas. It appears to last about a week. I think they called themselves Aroma Sleep or Sleep Scents or something. I don't remember the details.

I figured I could just use my flannel pad, soak it well with scent, and do the same thing. Haven't gotten there yet, but I toss that out for someone else who could use it.
