MAC software?

In checking all options, I may need some computer program to analyze data. So far, all I have read about is PC stuff. No PC here, just Mac. Are there any porgrams out there that work with Mac? Thanks very much, MoonBear

Nothing written for Mac. But if you have an Intel-based mac, it came with an app called "boot camp." With that and a copy of Windows you can run any of the software discussed here.

In addition to Boot Camp, which I use, you can run Windows inside Parallels or VMWare on a Mac. All three of these options require that you have a Windows install disk and a little tech savvy.

If you go the Boot Camp route, you will also want the most current version of OS X Snow Leopard, so that you have the most current version of Boot Camp. You would have to buy Parallels or VMWare separately if you go that route.

Or just buy a cheap Windows computer at Costco.

You also need an older Windows like XP or (excuse the expression) Vista.

It wasn't the age of Windows that tripped me up. It was the 64-bit stuff. Neither one of my card readers would work on 64-bit windows. They run just fine on 32-bit XP on Parallels on my iMAC. I was not able to get the 50E oximeter to work on my Mac, but it does work on 64-bit Windows 7 on my wintel laptop.

I've got ResScan v3.11 and v1.0 of the CMS-50F oximeter software running on my iMac without issue via VMware Fusion. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use Parallels - I have it on my computer at work, and it seems a lot faster than when I ran VMware Fusion on the same machine.
