recovery room???
recovery room???
Upcoming surgery general anesthesia my concern is in recovery after the breathing tube is removed, I will be bringing my cpap with me. what are anyone's experience coming out of general anesthesia?????
Re: recovery room???
I had sinus surgery last spring....I did not bring my CPAP. I discussed my SA with the anesthesiologist and she said I would be monitored closely until I woke up. There was a very short period between the end of the surgery to me awakening.

Talk with the anesthesiologist about exactly how he will deal with your sleep apnea - leave tube in longer? User anesthesia that wears off faster? Have special equipment not just available but present? Stay with you the entire time? Also, ask if there is anything you can do in advance to accelerate your recovery after surgery.

And make sure that the anesthesiologist doesn't look at you blankly when you tell him/her that you have sleep apnea. That wasn't a good thing for me.
