sleep meds?
so if a person needs help with sleeping...while getting used to cpap, and diphenhydramine (benadryl, tylenol pm, etc.) is bad for sleep apneas....then what can a person take?
Re: sleep meds?
Ambien is often mentioned as a better choice because it has less of an effect on sleep architecture.

My favorite is triazolam (Halcion). It is much better than other "sleepers". 0.125 to 0.25 mg. ten minutes before bedtime. Generic is fine, and 30 tabs of 0.25 mg. will cost under $15.
Triazolam did get bad press in the UK many years ago because of high doses in older people, so it is not the number one selling sleeping med. No addiction, no rebound increased insomnia, rapid onset, etc.
Please post what med you obtain and how it works for you

Re: sleep meds?
My sleep doc prescribed one Restoril (Triazepam) for my sleep study. It did a good job of helping me sleep through it, but I have no idea whether it may have contributed to any of my events. Anyone have links to studies of sleeping aides for OSA sufferers?
