really sore tounge

hi, i have been using my resmed s9 with 9cm presurre for about a month now. i notice i wake up with a really sore tounge and that it looks like i have been biting it. as well it looks really red. i am pretty sure i am a mouth breather and have ordered the papcap chinstrap hoping it makes things better. could it be another reason i have such a really sore tounge?
