Going to get a new machine, ideas?

Post by Mimmie » Sat Sep 04, 2010 10:01 am

I am coming up on my 4 year date. My insurance deductible has been met for this year and I am going to be able to pick what machine I want. I have only had the one that I have now, never tried any other. What would you guys recommend?

Can you get an auto? That runs in auto or straight cpap mode so you can do a mini titration every so often , especially if you also get the software.

I have the PR System One Auto with A-Flex and like it very much. I also have the software (Encore Viewer 2.0).

I'm not especially recommending it but it works very well for me. As long as you get a machine that will give you detailed data so you can have a hand in managing your own therapy, you'll be good to go.

Since insurance is paying and will probably require compliance documentation, as well as your doctor needing to monitor your therapy, I think you should choose a machine that can have its data read by those parties. If they only care about compliance, then you need to lobby for a fully data capable machine that provides YOU with the information about your therapy. If the allowance for a machine is limited by your insurance, you should choose one that meets your needed for data but will also fit into the allowable amount insurance will pay.

I bought my own machine, and my doctor's office does not have the ability to read the data from this brand. I bought the software for my own use, and I will simply provide him with the reports as needed. There is always a workaround!

The new Intellipap AutoAdjust with Smartflex is certainly an excellent choice, IMHO, and is a best seller on our host's site. It is much less expensive that the 2 most popular brands.
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

A new Pro2. You will be hard pressed to find one as good as the Pro2. Just because they don't make them any more. The data off the Pro2 is excellent. I recently bought one with 2.7 hours -New. At 4 years a Pro2 is just getting broken in good .
