Dry Mouth

Initially, I was using a full face mask. This is because my mouth would stay open most of the time while I slept. As a result, I would wake various time during the night with an extremely dry mouth. I also use a humidifier and still have the dry mouth.

I switched to a nasal mask and started using a chin strap to help close/keep my mouth shut. As hard as I try to pull the chin strap tight, my mouth still opens. Also, the chin strap tends to move during my sleep and becomes loose. I have also tried a more secure chin strap, same problems.

Does anyone know of a full face mask that can help support or keep my big mouth shut?

I use a FFM and tape my chin up. I put two pieces of tape that each go from the center of my bottom jaw, under my chin, up over my chin, over the corner of my mouth, and land somewhere just under my eye and just beside my nose. Then I use another piece of tape just below my lower lip connecting the two other pieces of tape.

I have also taken pieces of tape from the same spot on my jaw below my chin upon to the mask itself. That also works and is more comfortable, but it doesn't allow you to adjust the mask a whole lot.

I believe the hybrid mask includes a chin piece to help you keep your chin up.

Look around at masks--several of them have built-in chin straps.

Have you thought about using the Hybrid? It has a chin cup that helps keep the mask stable and your mouth closed. And it comes with 3 sizes of pillows & cushions so getting the right size is easy.
