full face mask question
ok the one i tried and took home cause i thought it would work was the hybrid (the pillows attached to the mouth mask). when you are wearing full face masks does it blow your mouth open? i found that once i would try to breathe through my mouth the pressure of 9 (which is not that high) would blow my mouth open. when i would shift the mask to try to close my mouth it would make a big farting noise lol does anyone have this issue? is it the mask or are all ffm the same? i would like to try other ones. which ones do you recommend.

Re: full face mask question
also wondering if you tried the masks that go on the bridge of your nose and it was tender, did it go away? or is it not the mask for me, do you think?

Re: full face mask question
Well, I use a FFM at 9 cm. It doesn't blow my mouth open, however, because I use tape that tends to keep my mouth shut. Yes, under my FFM, I have tape, too. Can't stand a chin strap (at least not the ones I've tried, and my jaw would drop and leave a big gap at the lower part of the mask if I didn't use tape.sleepymama wrote:ok the one i tried and took home cause i thought it would work was the hybrid (the pillows attached to the mouth mask). when you are wearing full face masks does it blow your mouth open? i found that once i would try to breathe through my mouth the pressure of 9 (which is not that high) would blow my mouth open. when i would shift the mask to try to close my mouth it would make a big farting noise lol does anyone have this issue? is it the mask or are all ffm the same? i would like to try other ones. which ones do you recommend.
I think it would tend to blow my mouth open if I didn't use the tape, however, so I'm not surprised that you are finding that.

Yes, yes, no not on its own, and I don't know.sleepymama wrote:also wondering if you tried the masks that go on the bridge of your nose and it was tender, did it go away? or is it not the mask for me, do you think?
I use the Ultra Mirage FFM. I have to protect my nose with a bit of custom tape, which I have described many times in this forum. I do not get red marks as a result.
I don't know whether a FFM is for you or not. My experience suggests that it takes a lot of fiddling to make a mask work, and it is easy to give up too soon on one.
Re: full face mask question
this is why I use the nose pillows..
I think there is a huge learning curse with the full face masks, one I have not mastered, and I have tried, um, I cant remember how
many full face masks..
bandaids are good for nose bridge comfort.. some people put one on every night..
I have a brand new ff I got last week, its in the closet, it doesnt leak. Its a comfort gel large, the templates say I should wear a medium,
but they all farted.. large size, no farts..
However, I have trained myself to keep my mouth shut, so I put the ffm on, and I dont want to breath thru my mouth now..
plus its sort of weird to do that the way the mask fits, not really easy to open our mouth like a yawning seal..
The only mask I found that is easy to breath thru your mouth is a total face mask like the fitlife. Im waiting for them to improve the
design, and I might try it again... leaked at the temples like pricked balloon.
You just keep at it, something will work.. Ive been at this awhile, and when I get tired, and frustrated, I want to give up. I just want to
quit.. you dont do that, okay?

Re: full face mask question
Try the ffm with a homemade remzzz. That is what I do when I use my quattro, no marks or owies on the bridge of the nose. Just do a search on homemade remzzz if you are the crafty type. There are also two types you can buy, Karen at padacheeks makes one and the other is the original remzzz.

Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
Re: full face mask question
That's a desirable thing. You shouldn't be breathing through your mouth at night, no matter which mask you use. A FFM takes care of the problem if you DO breathe through your mouth at night, but nose breathing is still superior.elena88 wrote:However, I have trained myself to keep my mouth shut, so I put the ffm on, and I dont want to breath thru my mouth now..
