Contact Fisher & Paykel

Post by Stormynights » Sun Aug 29, 2010 8:58 am

I have been doing a search to contact F&P healthcare. Does anyone know how to contact them? I am loving the Sense Awake and thought that a firmware update would provide the EPR as well. I don't know if this is available or not. If it is I want it. If it isn't available I want to ask for it. I am sure it could be done. If my machine had that I think it would be the best on the market.

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Stormy,

Tell us more about the Sense awake feature. When I heard about it I didn't think it sounded too good, because I feel like I'm suffocating at lower pressures when I'm awake. So I'm curious to know how it really works.

My machine is set to auto so when the pressure goes up it can wake me up. With the Sense Awake it backs off the pressure so I don't wakeup.

Looks like narrowing the APAP range to 1 or 2 CM's +&- of your CPAP setting would do that. without the chance to fry your machine. Jim

I contacted them and asked for the EPR firmware update. I got a reply today. If anyone else is interested in this feature you might also want to contact them.

I may be wrong. but, I don't think you are correct. The 'sense awake' feature senses when you are awake and lowers the pressure until you fall back asleep at which time it gradually increases to the proper pressure.

I have this machine. This is exactly what it does - Kim

It kicks in before you get fully awake to prevent you from getting fully awake. Mine kicks in on the average of 20 times per night according to my data but I don't wake up that many times.

SensAwake™ senses when a patient wakes and promptly lowers the pressure to aid the transition back to sleep. The result is a more personalized therapy during sleep and awake states.

I am going to correct myself. You are right and I am wrong. I copied this from F&P's description. I never realized that I was awake I guess. Anyway it works great for me. It sure beats rolling over and hitting the ramp button.
