Goodnight 420E what does IFL 1&2 do?
Goodnight 420E what does IFL 1&2 do?
If the IFL 1 and 2 are each left blank, what will happen when the machine detects an apnea whether it thinks its a central apnea or an obstructive apnea?

Below is the answer to your question about the 420 Evolution by Puritan Bennett.
INF 1 and INF 2 have nothing to do with apnea. They have everything to do with hypopnea, flow limitations and Snorer.
INF 1 Flow Limitation cycles
INF 2 Flow Limitation cycles with an amplitude decrease
You must have the "command on apnea" setting selected or the machine will not react to an apnea over 10cm. Set "command on apnea" to your regularly titrated cpap pressure and then use the INF's to reduce hypopnea, snore and flow limitations
The 420E is smart enough to sense a central apnea and reduce the pressure. Puritan Bennet autopaps had this ability back in the 418P days.

Last night's values were:Titrator wrote:Set "command on apnea" to your regularly titrated cpap pressure and then use the INF's to reduce hypopnea, snore and flow limitations
Apneas........ 36 6.3/hr
Apneas
w/Cardiac... 13 2.3
Hypopneas....37 6.5
Hypopneas
w/ FL ............9 1.6
AcousVibes....322 56.2
Runs.............112 19.5
What do I need to get better numbers and not be so exhausted during the day if my settings last night were;
Initial pressure 10.0
Min pressure 8.0
Max pressure 18.0
And actual pressure ranged from 8.0 to 16.0 but was mainly at 14 for most of the night.
Advanced features of ILF1 and ILF2 were not activated at all.

Ap w cc 18 1.4
hypop 61 4.8
Hy FL 26 2.0
Vibes 1052 82.6
Runs 275 21.6
Is this an improvement?
Since the pressure went up to the max should I have had it higher?
New max pressure was 17 and it spent alot of time there.
