Hi,
Just received my 3rd mask. Haven't found one that is comfotable yet.
Just tried the Vista on for size and when I pluged her in the seal around the nose was good but had air coming from exhaust vent. This couldn't be correct? It was pretty strong and loud. Took it apart but could not see why it was doing that.
Any thoughts out there in Cpap land?

I'm having a hard time understanding why you think air should not be coming out of the exhaust vent. Are you talking about the vent that is in the mask on purpose to allow air to escape? If so, then yes, air should be blowing out of there. Or are you talking about a vent somewhere else?Boston Charlie wrote:Hi,

The exhaust vent on the elbow. My other masks don't constantly blow air out at a high rate. I don't think that is correct. I would say once you exhale you would hear air exhaust gently not forcefully.

I think it SHOULD be blowing air, all the time, whether you are exhaling or not. But if it's not correct in your opinion, I don't know what to say. I guess we just have different opinions on how a mask should work.
Maybe someone will post and break the tie!

I am a newbe but my activa LT which really isn't all that bad and a pillow mask I borrowered and that was to forcefull on the nostrials, both of those didn't blow air like this one. ?????
Re: ResMed Mirage Vista Leaking Exhaust Vent?
It sounds more forceful because you have 4 or 5 little holes that the air is trying to escape from. The newer masks have lots of diffuser holes to quiet the masks down. Take your thumb and block those holes for a quick second or two; if you don't hear anything the mask is sealed.

I did that the mask is sealed. Guess I won't be using that mask. To noisy for me and the wife. To bad I liked the way it fit.
