Chinstrap for a woman (possibly Papcap Plus)

Post by Tovi » Fri Aug 13, 2010 4:15 pm

Hi,
Been lurking for a couple months, responded to a few threads, but this is my first post. Thanks to you guys and what you've posted here, I've done pretty well, managed to battle with Apria and emerge with good equipment. I really appreciate it.

I finally downloaded my data into ResScan and my leak rate goes from zero to horrible and back again. My husband says he nudges me when I open my mouth, because he can hear the noise.

I read the reviews of the Papcap plus and especially how it fits women better. So I thought maybe I should try it, but I'm confused as to whether it would work with the LT Swift for Her. Or should I just get the regular Papcap? Or do you recommend some other type of chinstrap? I'd appreciate learning about others' experiences.

I've also read about taping and I might consider it, but I'm worried about being allergic to the adhesive (I have an allergy to latex) so I want to try a chinstrap first.

I purchased a sampler of the Chin-up strips. http://www.chinupstrip.com they are comfortable and work quite well.

I am allergic to tape too, so I use micropore tape and I am okay as its actually paper and not much "stick-um". You can make your own chinup strips from 2 inch micropore tape.
Welcome and good luck

I've used the LT (male here) with papcap plus, it includes loop with velcro to slip your hose overhead.

And keep in mind they have full refund policy if it doesn't work for you. Bret's products are extremely well designed and his service is second to none.

Thank you for your responses! I really appreciate them. I tried the Papcap Plus and the headband was intolerable to me. The velcro dug into the back of my skull just where I wanted to rest my head. I also found the chin strap was a bit too big for me since I could still breathe out through my mouth. I might have experimented with chinstrap positions if I could have tolerated the velcro.

I'm going to try taping with Micropore tonight. We happen to have the tape anyway for when my son needed it.
