Mattress and pillow encasings

Post by SleepingUgly » Fri Aug 13, 2010 9:21 am

For those with allergies, has anyone ever encased their mattress and pillows? There are a lot of choices, with some purporting to have tinier pores than the next. May feel like they would be terribly uncomfortable. But I read something to suggest that the pores on the 100% cotton ones may end up enlarging over washings, and that doesn't sound good. Any particular brand or other information or advice?

Mattress is totally encased in a zippered plastic envelope.

I have severe dust allergies I have my mattress and pillows encased in plastic then a cotton mattress cover over it so the plastic doesn't make me sweat.
