Post by mimi7grands » Sat Aug 07, 2010 6:15 pm

Hi, I was wondering where I could get software for the S8 Autoset II. I'd appreciate a PM. Thanks!

Me again. I thought it might help to provide a little more info. I previously purchased and downloaded software. At the time, I thought I'd be getting a USB adaptor so I selected that option for the download. I wasn't able to find the USB adaptor so purchased a card reader from Australia. Then I tried the software but it didn't work. The download link is no longer active and the seller doesn't respond to emails. Urgh. I gave up for awhile but thought I'd give it another try.

My AHI went over 5 a couple of times in the last week. I know that's not a lot but it kind of freaks me out. My AI was around 2.5. Usually, the AI is around 1 and the HI around 2 or 2.5. I have the pressure set at a minimum of 9 and a max of 14. My average pressure is usually around 11. I tried raising the minimum pressure, but my AHI went up.

I don't know if it makes a difference but my heart rate (beats per minute) has gone down to the mid 50's (was 48 this morning). It's probably related to the Amiodarone I take. I've wondered if the rate could influence the AHI or HI. (I don't currently have medical insurance but have gone to the Community Health Clinic. The PA thought it might be a good idea to stop the meds but nothing else has stopped the atrial fibrillation I get when I don't take it. It's sort of the rock and hard place dilemma.)

BTW, I've lost more than 90 pounds since I was first diagnosed and was told the pressure should be 8. Instead of being able to get off CPAP, the pressure I need has gone up! Maybe my throat has gotten flabby like the rest of me! I have another 40 pounds or so to go. I'm hoping that will help.

So...a lot of info (TMI?!) from someone who knows almost enough to be dangerous. The techie stuff is frustrating for a non-techie like me but I thought I'd give it one more try. I'd appreciate any advice you might have.
