Its amazing a lot of the times to read what the study quoted/referenced in news article actually says versus what the reporter thinks it says. Sometimes I wonder if they read the same journal article at all or if they are summarizing someones elses summary of a summary. It seems that the author assumes that since both articles were in the same issue of a journal & they're both about apnea that they must be related when one was about OSA and the other CSA. And the CSA article was specifically looking at using CPAP for CSA caused by heart failure- which is why the AutoSet CS2 that is in FDA trials right now is so promising because early indications are that it can reduce the chances of death in that population of people with heart failure and subsequent CSA.
