Snuggle hose

I was looking around but im sure I missed the discussion. I was curious if anyone used the snuggle hoses on Cpap.com. I know there are better things to prevent rainout, but I like the whole idea of having something besides plastic on my face. And I hate the sound of the hose rubbing on itself at night. I figure both of those problems would be helped by a snuggle hose. Are there any issues that people have had with the product in reguards to these subjects? Is there something else better than that product?

My wife sewed one up for me and it's working great for preventing rainout. None since I put it on. It's considerably thicker than the ones sold on ebay and such. I may take it apart and sew a covering of smooth, "satiny" type material on the outside to keep it from "sticking" to my flannel sheets and such. Other than that, I love it.

I purchased one via Ebay (can't sew worth a darn). It did help with the condensation I was having - that wasn't severe, but I was getting an impromptu "nasal irrigation" every night. That has stopped, and I was even able to turn the HH up another level without problem. So a hose cover worked for me. YMMV.

Hi Apnea@22,
I have a snuggle hose, but I still got rainout. I think that part of it depends upon where you live and how much humidity may already be in the air, as well as the room temp in your bead room. If i were you I would try it to see if it works, anything is worth trying!

For me the only thing that worked was the aussie heated hose.... But as you can see above others have been sucessful with the the hose snuggle.

Yeah I think I didn't ask the correct question. I really don't have a problem with rainout as long as I keep my humidity down low enough. I was looking at it to help with the tube itself. I hate the way it feels if it drapes on my face, and I don't like the sound of the tube rubbing on itself. I assume that both of these issues would be fixed by having something soft on the hose but I am not handy enough to create one. Thats all.

I live in Florida so it rarely gets cold/dry enough to need a heated hose I think. But then again I spend a lot of time in England in poorly heated hotels. Guess I should look into it.

I have the Snuggle Hose. It sounds like it should fit your purposes well. You don't get that yucky cold plastic feeling when the tube touches you during the night. It has also helped me some with rainout. I am about to make my own souped-up version with more insulation.

Thanx for the idea. I have got plently of stretch knit fabric around here and a serger machine so I know what I will be doing tonight. I can't stand the feel of the rough hose near my face either..CareS
