? on photo # 28 of 39

DSM,

I noticed on photo # 28 of 39 for the Remstar Auto with CFlex http://www.internetage.com/cpapinfo/rem ... index.html there is an opaque piece mounted in the heated humidifier tank.

Did this come with the humidifier? Does anyone know what the purpose of this piece is?

Thanks ozij. I sent a request to cpap.com to see if they carry it.

Thanks for all the info, everyone. I really appreciate the help. I've been dreading flying since I started with this therapy, so I am grateful for the advice of all you more experienced travelers! I'll check out the link ozij provided. Thanks again.

Do you (or anyone) know if the Escape 8 has an international power pack? I am going to Israel this summer and would hate to drag a 110/240 converter if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

Travel CPAP

Post by dankazoo » Mon Oct 31, 2005 10:05 pm

I travel every week and use the 420e as my travel machine, complete with heated humidifier. I use the travel bag from my Remstar home machine to pack the 420e along with hose, mask and an Aquafina bottle of distilled water so I don't "gunk" up the reservoir. I have traveled with this as a carry on bag and I have packed it within a large suitcase when I have too many bags. I have not encountered a problem in either case. (No pun intended)

Motel end tables are usually higher than the mattress, so I will often put the CPAP on a chair next to the bed. I do carry an adapter for two plugs for both CPAP and humidifier as many motels do not have a lot of outlets and the ones they have connect the lights and alarm clock/radio.

Jere,
I understand from DSM's letter that the Escape 8 power supply is inside the box, so all you need is a fitting cable.

If you want to come prepared, buy a socket adapter, to switch from the American (Type A) to the Isaeli (Type H) plug .

ozij! What a cool link. Interesting reading even if I, myself, don't have opportunities to travel outside the States much. Good link to tuck away in my packrat closet of links, though. Thanks!!
