Hi. I am a newbie, both on this list and as a CPAP user. I've noticed that sometimes during the night or first thing in the morning before I take my nasal pillows off, bubbles of air come out between my lips. While reading some of the new user information, I noticed a term called, "blowfishing." Is this what is happening to me? Does it matter or diminish my therapy? If I change masks or tape my mouth shut (already use a chin strap but am still able to open my mouth if I need to), what happens to that air?
Thanks!
Blowfishing?
Re: Blowfishing?
Hopefully it'll go back down your airway, where it belongs. It's not going to do you any good if it just blows out in the breeze!
Re: Blowfishing?

It's what happens when your lips are taped and you mouth fills with air.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Re: Blowfishing?
Yes, that's what "blowfishing" is. And it doesn't harm a thing.
In fact, if you have full-face (or hybrid) mask, blowfishing is a good way to stop a leak when one wakes you up. The puffed out cheeks press harder on the skirt.
