Cut Nose from a Mask

Post by Threshold » Sun Jun 06, 2010 8:48 am

My wife's full mouth and nose mask cuts the bridge of her nose. Any ideas that could help us out?

The detail:

She has long hair, so she ties it up as a bun on the top of her head at night. This makes it impossible to wear the uppermost strap from the mask where it normally would go... So she wears the straps lower than intended. This forces the mask to rub into the bridge of her nose.

I showed her how the mask has a nose adjustment knob -- but if she pushed the mask from her nose it would lose its seal.

Any ideas for how to keep a seal but release the pressure upon her nose?

Thanks!

If the issue really is due to her hair positioning, I would change the hair. It is far easier to change the hair than to find another mask that works.

Hi there,

sorry your wife is having her nose cut by the mask, that must hurt!

I have long hair, and what I do is put it up in a "pepples" style pony tail, with a scrunchy...
I can then move the pony tail to the very top of my head, to the back, even to the side, I can slide it anywhere
there isnt a strap..

I would try either a low ponytail or none at all. That strap really needs to be in the correct place.

There are MANY masks designs which don't rest on the nose bridge. That may be one solution.

However, most masks have over-the-head straps, and the positioning is often critical to a good seal...as she found. I think a change in hair arrangement is the thing to pursue. It will be easier and cheaper.
