Another Aussie heated Hose Question

I have been using my Aussie Heated Hose for a Week now and it has eliminated all my Rainout problems and I have tried it on settings of One, Two and Three on the HH and with all three settings I awake with Congestion and Dry Nose. My Question is Has anyone used the Aussie Hose with the HH in Passover Mode with any Success ? I will Try it in the Passover mode tonight and see if the Congestion improves. I am thinking that maybe I can get enough Heat from the Hose without heat from the HH as it is Hot here in Texas now. Thank you

I have used the heated hose for years now with just passover humidification.
I went to passover because of remaining rainout issues.
I go through one humidifier fill per week. I s'pose that's about 8 oz. of water.

I frequently use the heated hose with passive humidification or a setting of 1. It takes the edge off the temperature without blowing hot air up your nose. Excess humidity and heat is uncomfortable to me as well.

Understand how a heated hose can reduce/prevent rainout when the humidity is high.

On the other hand if the humidifier cannot fully humidify the air or if the ambiant air temperature in the humidifier is significantly less than the temperature of the heated hose, then I suggest that the heated hose can actually reduce the relative humidity of the air delivered to the patient. Suggest that this can create a problem with dryness in the nose and mouth that can disturb sleep.
