ANOTHER SLEEP STUDY

Post by newname » Tue May 25, 2010 7:48 pm

I saw an ENT today who was very nice. She scheduled another sleep study for me at the Holiday Inn (vacation night for me) She doesn't seemto think APAP is as good as CPAP. We'll see what happens. She suggested nasal rinses. Are these difficult to do without gagging on the solution?

You show this in your "profile":

Respironics Legacy AutoPap with humidifier

Do you have the software and card reader to interpret your nightly data?
What are your settings in the machine?
Why do you think you "need" a sleep study?

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I need a sleep study because I don't sleep well. I wake up about every hour or two.
My Legacy is set at 8 - 16. I send in my data card sometimes to my DME for a report. It says my average pressure is from 8 - 12, occasionally up to 14.
I now tape my mouth because I talk and scream in my sleep and this causes me to lose air. The ENT said it's okay to tape.
I haven't had a good night's sleep in year. Been on CPAP for 3 years.

When I got this new machine with APAP a year ago, I slept for 9 hours the very first night I got it. I was so excited. But it never happened again!!
I need sleep!!!! They keep telling me if I lose weight my apnea will go away. It's so frustrating.
