During my journey, I was tired alot, apnea was part of the reason, but allergy/sinus was a major issue too, but I didn't discover, till I began to keep a journal, using ResScan. Allergy/sinus was draining the life out of me, upper respiratory infections, nasal congestion, etc..... Had me sleep poorly, notice during those times my hypops increase. Keeping airway's open, is an important key as well. After I began to increase nasal rinsing, apnea 0.0/hypop 1.0-1.2 !! Amazing !!
So my research shows, restricted airways, reduces cpap treatments. How, do I know this, during times of allergy/sinus issues, I bump my auto pressure up 1-3cm, nasal rinse 3-4 times per day, opposed to 1,. Hypop levels decrease.
When I have allergy/sinus issues, my airway's swell up, from my nose to lungs, and my throat too, I also have an enlarged thyroid. But I was excited to make this discovery. I have a slightly deviated trachea. During allergy/sinus issues, my hypop's sky rocket 4.0-6.0,.
So, sleep docs do not take into account, other issues that could effect treatments. Most times, we discover on our own. Such as, I believe cpap treatment would be different for smokers/non smokers. How much a person smokes during the day, can swell up airways, congest the nasal passage, etc....
Any thoughts ?
