S8 Autset II or S9 Autoset?
S8 Autset II or S9 Autoset?
I am a new user of a CPAP/Autoset machine and currently own the S8 Autoset II and the S9 Autoset. For any experience Autoset users, my question to you is, between the 2 Autosets, which is a better machine? What would you recommend I use and why?

Re: S8 Autset II or S9 Autoset?
You currently OWN the S8 AutoSet II AND the S9 AutoSet and you are asking US which is the better???
YOU are the one who owns both (you LUCKY DOG!) and yet you are asking us?? What's up w/that? Have you used both for at least one week each? Were you able to download your data from both? How did your data from each look? And more important how did you feel after a week on each one? THAT SHOULD tell you all you need to know!
Personally, after having used the S8 AutoSet Vantage but never having had the opportunity to use the S8 AutoSet II or the S9 AutoSet, only having read of other's experience w/them I'd kinda MAYBE favor the S8 AutoSet II despite the extra data from the S9 simply because of the humidifier/hose situation. I'm not convinced the H5i is an improvement over the H3i and H4i. Altho the S9 is a good looking device I found the S8 body, method of LED data access and H3i MUCH to my liking.
I am currently trialing the PR SystemOne BPAP Auto w/Bi-Flex and frankly, I don't particularly care for the design of the humidifier. I'm not sure how similar the S9's humidifier set up is. Part of what I don't care for w/the PR S1's humidifier is the tank design to prevent leakage. I do not remove, empty and clean my humidifier tank daily. I just top it off w/distilled water as needed. So, I just lift the humidifier tank lid on the H3i (and H4i) and let the S8 "do its thing" w/no concern at all about any humidity getting back into my S8. That is NOT the case w/the PR S1 - there is ALWAYS condensation in the tank. I have to break my 3 year habit of NOT removing the tank each day to prevent humidity getting back into the PR S1 and shortening its lifespan. It would appear that one would have to do the same w/the S9 H5i tank - remove it or risk humidity getting back into the S9 itself and lessoning its lifespan.
On the other hand, not having had the opportunity to get more than a distant look or seeing pictures and what I've read I know next to nothing about the S9 and actual use. As much as I love data, at this point in time I'm not at all sure that the S9 design is an improvement over the S8 and S8 II.
