CPAP & Chest Congestion

Post by Bob Phillips » Thu May 20, 2010 9:21 pm

I, 67 year old male, have been having problems with Chest Congestion some mornings. I went to the ER with pneumonia in April, woke up wheezing and couldn't breath.

Then last week same thing except used Abuterol and musinext and no ER trip, I do have mild COPD and use a IntelliPAP AutoAdjust Travel CPAP Machine with humidification, but no heat.

I never had a problems with chest congestion B4 or pneumonia for that matter.. Saw my Pulmo and Slleep doc and he gave me a steroid burst and was feeling pretty good

Then this am woke up with chest congestion again. Is it the CPAP ? or am I just have a long term chest cold.??

Later and have a good day

I have COPD, and from what you're saying, it sounds like your COPD, and you should go see your doctor!

When MY COPD gets bad, I go on steroids for a few weeks.

Is the humidity set high on your machine? If so lowering it a touch may help if it is not caused by illness.
