Trying to Understand My Numbers !

Post by ZQuest » Sun May 16, 2010 5:58 am

Hello Everyone I am trying to keep a log basically on my sleeping habits and make adjustments, intead of making changes to my machine settings at least until i can further understand this therapy better. My Apap settings are 8cm/11cm , i'm currently using the Swift Fx mask which i have gotten very used to and really like,i also recently got the ResScan 3.10 and downloaded my sd card.my problem is trying to understand better these numbers....Last night numbers.... ( AI 0.7 )-(Obstructive-0.1) (Central 0.6)(Hypopnea index 0.2) (AHI 0.9) ------ Leak Maximum 7.2 ...... Pressure Median ( 8.7) 95th Percentile (9.9) ......... Maximum 10.6 Now this is the first night of me TAPING my mouth due to suspected mouth leaks and it is the first time that i have slept over 7hrs. WOW! Now my question is should i be concern about the CENTRAL APNEA numbers ? i understand that excessive pressures can cause centrals in some cases, the reason that i ask is that for what i understand Apap machines do not treat Central Apnea, other than that i Really feel GOOD i'm just curious about the (central numbers). and if these numbers are fairly good.. Any help would greatly be appreciated.......... Best Regards .... Phil M.

To me your numbers look pretty good. Wish mine were any where near those.
