new machine

Post by loonlvr » Fri Jan 14, 2005 6:33 pm

I have been using a remstar plus for about 14 months. I went back to my sleep doc about an auto machine and he flat out said no. So i went back to my reg doc and he happily wrote a prescription. Thank god. Im gonna get a remstar auto with c flex cpap and heated humidifier. Also the software. I m getting a Ultra mirage full face(mouth breather). Any comments about this setup as i can change my order. I have insurance with a fairly high co pay, but want something i ll like, since i ll be using it for a third of my life.

loonlvr,

You're and inspiration to all of us!

You've made a great choice of equipment, I wouldn't cancel a thing. You will find what you have chosen will be all you need to get you through the toughest OSA obstacles.

You should be very proud of yourself and very confident in the fine choice you've made.
Sincerely,

Hey loonlvr,
Did the Sleep Doc explain why he didn't want you use the Auto ? Were you doing poorly with the Remstar Plus? Obviously the auto is a better choice............hummmmm just wondering. My sleep Doc probably doesn't even know what AutoPap means ! (really !!)

Good luck

Thanks muck for the kind words. No 53 he didn t. I think some of us in here have more personal experience than these so called professionals. All I wanted was a machine that didn t run at a pressure that was higher than I need each nite. I also want one I can download info to see whats happening, with the thought of changing something to lessen the intensities of the apneas ,etc. All I can say to everyone is to get aggressive to get what equipment you need after you have educated yourself fully about your condition and whats needed.
