Hello People
Every so often our requirement on the cpap changes, if one can last more then two years without a pressure change then the person's doing quite well on their treament on CPAP.
Recently I had my pressure changed, I guess as I get older and my body changes my pressure requirments changes in accordence with the rest of my body. It is advisable to keep a eye open for any subtle changes in one's mental and phyical state of waking in the mornings.
A strong indication on how one is feeling, whatever it is feeling more sleepy or more tired then usual on waking, This may give a fairly accurate picture on how your CPAP treament's is going in controlling your sleep apeona attacks during the night.
My pressure changed from 8cms-10cms, Quite frankly, I think it is quite high pressure for a small person less then 5ft and 1 inchs in height!
As the other CPAP users....

It is important to follow up with your CPAP prescription if you start to feel like the pressure just isn't cutting it anymore.
I hope 10 is still comfortable for you...it is still about average for an adult, regardless of size. My only pediatric patient, a 6 year old girl, is on 10 also. My boss once had a sleep lab try to get him to set a 7 year old boy up on CPAP 20!

Hi Christine,
This is the perfect opportunity to bring up the "why doesn't everybody have an autopap" question. Wouldn't an autopap take care of making these adjustments as they occur rather than after you realize you just don't feel that good anymore.
Snuffle-nose,
Thanks for this excellent topic!
