I ordered one of these last night and I got an email stating that it had been shipped from their sales@2factors.com, but then I also got another email that it had been shipped from av8r@av8r.org. Strange.

Hey, as long as there isn't another charge for one coming along with it. I personally don't need another. And I don't understand how they got my email address, either.

Ya, those bozos must have sent my confirmation to about 50 people!!!
I've been receiving emails all day asking why they got a confirmation on something they didn't order...

Maybe I'll get 50 of these??

You know, now that I think about it, Ronco once sent me a thank you for my order a year later with an estimated arrival date. When I called them and said I hadn't ordered anything in about a year, they said it was a gliche in their computer system and to ignore it (with their apologies). Maybe this is one of those gliches, too.

They are! Very reputable, easy to deal with, good communication skills. It's just like what I posted about what happened with Ronco a while back. As long as there was no harm done, all's well that ends well.

You will get another e-mail from them-they accidentally sent one to everyone. So don't expect another reader.

Here's what I got from them today. As I expected, they sent my confirmation to their newsletter list. While I agree that it's ok to make mistakes, sending email as if it were sent from a domain that I own is a *HUGE* no-no in the IT world. It's actually breaking the law (not to mention the SMTP RFC) The "contractor" that they use for email has their server mis-configured and should be held accountable.

Any way...

Hi Ziff,
I am sorry for the trouble. It is our mistake.

Our staff send out confirmation from our "News Letter" section. And it is wrongly reverse the sender and receiver. So that you become the person to confirm the shipment.

As discussed with our IT contractor, they said that there is no method to stop this way in internet. (I mean, acting like someone to send email).
In this moment, we will have the following action.
(1) we changed existing procedure to avoid the same typing mistake occur again.
(2) Apologetic letter will be sent out to all member to clarify the situation.

I am sorry about it again.

Best Regards,

Two-Factors

So there ya go...mystery officially solved...back to sleep!!

Oh, goodie. Instead of getting a repeat that you now will understand as a mistake, they'll make a different mistake next time that you aren't expecting. .
