Yeah. This essay periodically makes the rounds of the thyroid board where I participate. I really like it.

This one I hadn't read before. It conveys so well the difference between living life healthy or with health considerations. Thanks for sharing. Kudos to the friend who really wanted to understand. Thanks for posting.

I have never heard the daily stresses of trying to live with a chronic illness, described in a clearer way.

Many of forum members have conditions in addition to cpap - and many do not - The article would be of interest to everyone.

SAG, thanks for posting that. It is hard to describe. As with the authors friend, I'm afraid my wife (who is my very best friend) often flucuates between denial and acceptance, but generally does not understand. It can be a source of friction for us. Not that she does not care or try to understand. It's a good way to explain any chronic illness.

I now have a drawer full of beautiful spoons, including a couple dipped in chocolate.

(Thus far, I feel like I have a couple less, but am hopeful of seeing that change.)
Depends on the night, of course. Last night I had all sorts of problems with cramping. Go figure. As you might guess, I ran out of steam much earlier. And I still have a full plate I need to complete tonight. Sigh!

But when sleep goes well, I go from almost none (without my ASV unit) to a full handful. The difference in my ability to think, concentrate and articulate my thoughts is nothing short of astounding.
