full face mask leaks

Can anyone help me with this problem? I have a resperonics full face mask that I was trying to use. Air was leaking out around my chin and making an awful loud noise. I tried to tighten the mask but about squeezed my head off. Someone told me to loosen the mask, that it was supposed to "float" on my face. After trying that, I could understand how these masks kinda of "grab onto" your face and float. But I still had a little bit of air leaks. So I was referred to the resmed ultramirage full face mask. I think it feels a little better and I can actually fall asleep, but as soon as I seem to "go under" into dreamland I am awakened by that awful loud noise. I can't even explain how loud it is and it is definately an air leak noise. Now understand I do still have some other air leaks that do not make this loud noise. Also these air leaks are around my chin area. I can easily tolerate a little air leak but that loud noise even wakes my husband out of a deep sleep! Can anyone give me some advice?

also wanted to point out that last night i came to this conclusion. when i am going to sleep i start out out using the ramp on my cpap. so the airflow is low. so last night i started out full blast at my high setting (12), and immediatly my mask made that loud noise. the air flow at 12 is so strong that it is hitting the edge of my mask at the lip and is trying to escape my mask which is making that loud noise. by the way the noise sounds like a swarm of bees. please help! any ideas!
