The topic - MedicAlert for sleepapnea by MoneyGal gave me an idea for a Xmas present from my husband to me. I think it is necessary that I have some kind of identification of my sleep apnea condition. Yesterday we went to the jeweler shop and hubby bought me a lovely, shiny, silwer bracelet.(see photo no. 1)
Now I need some help. Which of the following two logos will be best to have engraved?
No. 1

Logo no. 1

Logo no. 2

Logo no. 1 is the logo for SleepApnea but personally I think logo no. 2 is best known amongst emergency personel. I will have the logo engraved on the top side and 'SleepApnea' on the reversed side. The jeweler said she can put some oxide in the letters to make it more visible.( MoneyGal, maybe you saved some lives!)
Any other ideas will be most welcome.

Merry Christmas.
Those kinds of gifts are the best.
I saw something the other day where friends got a friend passed out drunk and got him a new tattoo for Christmas. Unfortunately it was put on his forehead and is four letters followed by off. I sure hope he can get it removed.

Marietjie,
I definitely think that Logo #2 would be best because it is a very easily recognized alert that you have a serious medical condition, as long as you will have the relevant information regarding sleep apnea engraved on the reverse.
I was thinking about getting something similar, as a necklace. In addition to the words 'Sleep Apnea', it would be ideal to add something on the pendant like:
"At risk of airway blockage or cessation of breathing if I lose consciousness, am administered sedative or muscle-relaxing drugs, or undergo anesthesia. Endotracheal intubation may be difficult due to airway collapse. If drugs or anesthesia are administered, keep reversal agents immediately available."
But I can't figure out a way to get ALL that information on a small pendant!!! I would prefer to have all that information right there, without medical personnel having to call MedicAlert. One thought I had is to have the words "Obstructive Sleep Apnea" and "Please refer to wallet card for important information" on the pendant and have ALL the pertinent info in my wallet at all times. Any other ideas would be welcome!

I would go with number two just a regular medic alert. If someone doesn't have sleep apnea they won't know what the other one means or that it is a medic alert.
Go with a standard medic alert and have "obstructive sleep apnea" written on the back.
Dreamon, I agree with friends like that who needs enemies. Could you imagine having a tail light burnt out on your car and getting pulled over for it and the cop seeing that on your forehead. You sure won't be making new friends any time soon either, which may have been their reason for doing it.
