Settings help for after surgery?

So... having sinus surgery on Thursday (they think that it'll be in the AM, to go home Friday AM), and I'm supposed to be off my machine until Monday. I'm guessing that I don't want the full blast on Monday, but how far down do I go? Or should I try and let it figure out where it needs to be?

I'll see if I can find the RT at the DME's tomorrow, see if any of them have any bright ideas.

Got the shock of shocks when I did the preop paperwork with the nurse... I though it was 3 procedures... there's a lot more on the list now.

Have you asked the surgeon? I would hope he would give you a max pressure to use. If he doesn't care what the pressure is for monday, I would try my regular pressure first and then lower it to a comfortable level if need be. Best of luck with the surgery!

If the Hybrid is the mask you use, I wonder if the nasal pillows on that mask will be a possiblility soon after surgery.

It's just something you might want to consider.

The surgeon didn't give me any ideas... he doesn't know enough about OSA to do that.

And yes I guessed that I'll need to change my mask for awhile... luckily I've got a fair selection of FFM's

I'm glad you have a number of FF masks! I was wondering about that when you listed the Hybrid as your mask.

That's unfortunate that your surgeon has no clue with cpap. Mine does and she knew exactly what to do.
Anyway, I would get a hold of the RT and ask them and I would also plan on using that FFM at least for a few days. I don't understand why you wouldn't use the cpap for right after the surgery. I used it immediately after my surgery for my uppp and tonsilsectomy and I know two people who used the same surgeon for their nose and they used cpap right afterwards.

I think I'd probably try not using my cpap at least the first two or three nights after sinus surgery. I'd sleep sitting up in a recliner.

But if you absolutely need to use your machine no matter what, I'd do what Brenda (bdp522) suggested. Experiment a bit with different pressures, preferably lower than you usually use, to see what seems comfortable. I wouldn't use auto mode..not for a few nights, anyway. I'd probably want to use as much humidification as possible.
