Opinions on the Fisher & Paykel Flexfit 431 Full Face Ma

Post by Dale92 » Mon Oct 03, 2005 7:09 pm

Good evening everyone!
I am still having problems finding a mask that works for me and I guess from reading this forum this is an on going problem for most of us CPAP users. I am looking around for another mask and came across the Fisher/Paykel Flexfit 431 full face mask. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with this mask. I understand in fits under the chin which would help someone like me who does not have that chiseled chin that helps give that great seal. If you have an opinion on this or a recommendation on another mask I would appreciate it.

Oh, I have tried the Swift nasal mask but the air leaks continually wake me up at night and my RT has warned me about taping my mouth shut as I told him I have done when trying the Swift. I would prefer to stick to a full face mask or total face mask since I am a mouth breather by nature.

Derek,

The HC431 is supposed to be more flexible than other masks, at the bridge of the nose. The problem for folks with no high bridge is that this mask is too flexible at this point & many get leaks.

This would seem to me to be your best bet. If you do get one pls report the results.

Cheers

DSM

xPAP and Quattro std mask (plus a pad-a-cheek anti-leak strap)

Nooooooooo!!!!

I actually just mentioned this same mask in another thread. viewtopic.php?t=4825

Oh, and Wading, thanks for verifying that I'm not crazy. I thought it was just me that could not stop the leaks with this mask. I've had it everywhere from loose to "painfully tight" and it still leaks like mad.
