UltraMirage II Modifcation

Post by TheDreamer » Sun Dec 06, 2009 4:25 pm

and LargeWide != ShallowWide.

Last month I was in the online chat with ResMed presenting the SoftGel mask. I was interested, except it isn't available in my size....but they said in the chat that LargeWide and Small were coming out next year. And, the rep said LargeWide and ShallowWide are the same size, just name change.

Well, I use an UltraMirage II with a ShallowWide cushion. It is an okay mask, though think it would be a touch better if it had a microfit dial and think I want to get into a gel mask again. Might help the contact point under my nose... And, the other complaint is that the vent is noisy.

So, there were discount codes for thanksgiving....so I ordered the Activa LT in LargeWide. I didn't get return insurance. It arrived the day before Thanksgiving, also the day before I left for a trip over the long weekend....so I put it aside to try later. Well, I finally tried it last night.

I knew right away that it wasn't big enough for my nose...but I made it seal and slept with it anyways (because I hadn't cleaned my UltraMirageII). My nose hurt and the mask shifted during the night and tried to suffocate me.....but it was much quieter.....

So....today I was taking things apart to clean...and I got to thinking....wonder if I can switch elbows....

Well, it seemed to go...so let's see what kind of trouble I get into tonight.

Hey Dreamer, was there any mention in that chat if ResMed is planning on releasing the SoftGel cushions for the Quattro? I'd love to have them in FF!

I know somebody asked, but I don't recall if there was a response or what it was....

So....now I've created a new problem. The mask is too quiet. I've woken up a few times during the night to fiddle with it to make sure its still there.
