Therapy set back - BIG TIME !!!
Re: Therapy set back - BIG TIME !!!
Sorry about your temporary setback. I had an allergy attack a few years ago, and my doc prescribed some meds, but also recommended that I get a air purifier with a hepa filter for the bedroom, keep the door closed, and the hepa running 24/7. He said it wasn't the brand that was important, but that it was a true hepa filter, (we got a Honeywell). We could actually smell how sweet the air became. And no more dust in the room.

I took the Mucinex and Zyrtec last night and did not get congested as far as i can tell. My AHI was back down to 4.7.
I have ordered a nasal hydration system so that i don't have to keep taking these drugs

My netti pot helps me hugely when allergy season comes around. I know that some people find it problematic, but if it is used correctly, it should help not hurt.
If you use one, only tilt your head just enough for the water to come out on the other side. If you tilt your head too much, the water will go up your nose rather than out, and could worsen sinus issues. I know I have made the mistake of tilting my head too much, thinking that the rinse will be "more effective" that way, but that is not the case.
The other key is to make sure the water is neither too much or too little salty. Too much or too little salt in the water can lead to problems. Too much will dry out your nose, and too little doesn't quite flush out whatever has built up in your nose. Don't use table salt. Use salt that is meant for a netti pot, and follow the directions on there as to how much salt to use.
Good luck, and bravo for being so pro-active on getting your health back on track!!
