Will any data card reader work?

Post by Kemosabe2 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 10:42 am

I have the REscan softward now and my machine came with the card in it. Question is: Do I need to buy the Rescan card reader or will any card reader work?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not a techie, so can't answer your questions. But since you sound anxious, I did a search and found this link. Hope it helps.

Katie,

Thank you SO much. I also searched but did not find this link. I knew the answer had to be on here somewhere or someone had to know what it was! Thank you! Lisa

I ordered mine and just received shipping confirmation. If you want additional assurance that it works, I'll PM you to confirm the source and price. It's due to arrive on 12/1.

Are you aware that you'll have to make a guide for the small ResScan card to use the generic reader?

I just read the link that Katie sent and so now I do realize that I'll need to make a guide or I'll have to pony up the money for the Rescard reader or USB adapter. Because I already have the card in my machine amd I already have the Rescan software, I was really hoping I could go down to Best Buy and buy a card reader that would work and I could have my information today. Obviously not. I would appreciate knowing how you make out. Thanks

I bought the Rescan card reader and rec'd it yesterday.............worked like a charm without any glitches. I know very little about how the software works yet in relation to optimizing my usage of the data........but I am amazed. I'm so glad that I followed the wisdom on this board and sought out the card reader and software.

Scrapper, Can you please tell me if you can get your card out of your machine? I can see it inside mine, but I can't get it out. Maybe I'm not supposed to be able to get it out? I'm happy for you that you have everything you need to get the data onto your computer, I can't wait until I can do that too. It will be interesting figuring out what all the data means! Thanks, Lisa
