Junk the old machines?

Post by sagesteve » Mon Nov 16, 2009 11:17 pm

Quick question. I started with the M series then moved to the IntelliPap and really like it. Would the S8 AutoSet II CPAP Machine be that much better?

What kind of "better" are you looking for Steve? Is there still a need you have that neither the M Series nor Intellipap has met? Since you like your current machine, I personally wouldn't change again unless there's a specific feature in another machine that could meet an unmet need. There will always be one more machine out there we could try. The question becomes, is there one we should try?

I am a DEFINITE fan of the Resmed xPAPs. However, you have had the use of TWO GOOD xPAPs. Do you still own the M Series or was the F&P exchanged for the M Series which you had to return? IF you have the financial wherewithall to buy a Resmed out of pocket and want to do so go ahead. If you are looking to just exchange that F&P for a Resmed, much as I like my Resmeds I wouldn't bother.

It all boils down to what you want and expect from your xPAP. If you really like that F&P WHY do you think you might like the Resmed better? What is there about the F&P that makes you think you might like a Resmed or another brand better?

And what is with the "junk the old machines"? If the M Series and F&P are in good working order WHY ON EARTH would you even consider "junking" them???

What for? All three machines are top of the heap. Nothing wrong with the M, and I find the Intellipap great. The Autoset is also great (although I don't like Resmed's attitude about software). So, most would be happy with any of those three machines. There is no "better" amongst that group. Different tastes, different perspectives. Any one of them can treat OSA very effectively.

Slinky...used the word Junk to get attention...I used to write advertising copy We'll, got the answers that I wanted. The M was good in the beginning but then I went to the Intell after I had to send the M in for repair ( bought the Intell as a backup so to say). I really could see the difference between the two and the Intell was A LOT more comfortable for me...works great. Thank you all, I'll keep my Intell! I knew I could count on the board...the best people in the world I mean it!
