I did something today I haven't done before....

Post by GaryG » Sat Nov 14, 2009 5:39 pm

My wife went up for a nap, and I wasn't tired so went up and I took out my book, and read for an hour an a half in bed WITHOUT THE URGE TO TAKE A NAP. Feels great to be in charge.

Way to go Gary! I had a similar experience the other night. I made it through a movie without the slightest need to snooze. It's good to recognize the little, everyday events that show our therapy is working!

There are many nights now when I have to ask Mike if he's ready to go to bed because I'M the one who's sleepy. That's only one of the many improvements I notice. Today I couldn't quite grasp the relationship between two of his distant family members and he immediately told me they were second cousins. Before cpap that would have been impossible for him to figure out.

Gary, you are getting there---as you said in another post, you've yet to achieve "Nirvana." However, what you've achieved is good health and rest......isn't it great? BTW, your numbers did look good from the other thread.

Finished Don't Look Twice by Andrew Gross. A not too great novel, but that's besides the point. Well, actually, imagine reading a book that is less than thoroughly interesting and NOT falling asleep... hmm.

Yes, you're right. I feel like I'm the right track, but hoping for more.
