Fast Before Arterial Blood Gases Draw?

Hi, could someone let me know if my husband should fast before his arterial blood gases draw? Also, this draw is being done on Monday morning after he's slept a lot on the weekend. Would the test have told us more if it were scheduled for a Friday when he's exhausted all his reserves during the work-week and is dead on his feet? Just wondering about the second question. Thanks so much.

will tell you just about everything you may want to know about this test -- except, I think, whether it should be done when your husband is tired or rested. You might have to ask your doc that one!
