Thoroughly disgusted!!!!

Post by modistee » Wed Nov 04, 2009 8:21 pm

Yesterday I called the Sleep Center to see about getting upgraded from the Escape to the Elite. The guy I talked to asked what I was using and I told him and he said that's not what was ordered. So this morning the DME lady showed up to trade me machines and she brought me the very same machine I have now. *sigh* I can't seem to get anybody to understand that I don't want the plain jane machine that I want to be able to see what is going on each night. I am soooo upset. I called the Sleep Center again and asked for a written prescription so I can go get my own machine. It will take them forever to get back to me as usual. This is so frustrating. Sorry I just needed to vent.

I hear you and understand how you feel.
My script was for a "smart cpap pressure 8 - 12" plus mask and humdifier.

I was given the M series Plus machine set at a pressure of 10. When i complained the DME blatantly told me that was the correct machine. I fired them and went to another DME that would provide the scripted machine.
Start Date: 8/30/2007 Pressure 9 - 15

Be strong, and hang in there! You're worth it.

Thanks to lots of good info I gleaned from this site, I asked my physician to specify a fully data capable CPAP machine so that I could monitor my progress. That's exactly what he wrote on the Rx, so I got the Elite II with no problem from the DME. So, you might want to check with your doctor to see if he/she will add that requirement to your prescription. Good luck!
