Resmed AutoSet Spirit - Help

I have the clinicians manual, but I need deeper help. I have a Resperonics cpap that I use , but it is getting old. My brother-in-law gave me a ResMed AutoSet Spirit that he never used, but he took the compartment top off and disconnected the communication strip that runs from the internal programming board. I reconnected the strip, but now the info screen is just blinking at me as if it needs to be reset/re-programmed. Do you know where I should start?
