Swift Headgear Pain
My 5 Cents
I noticed the same thing myself, what with me being an experienced Swift user of at least 4 days now. Not only did the cushions shift but by so doing they also partially blocked the already precarious flow of air through my narrow nostrils, making it impossible for me to side sleep.
I have found no real solution except to hang my head close to the side of the pillow so the nasal cushions hang over the side of the pillow. I am also finding that this is a pain and I am now "subconciously" avoiding side sleeping and am becoming more and more a back sleeper.

Yes, hanging over the side of the pillow and spending more time on my back than ever. I'm really beginning to wonder if some other mask mightn't be better for me. The Aura maybe?dkeat wrote:I have found no real solution except to hang my head close to the side of the pillow so the nasal cushions hang over the side of the pillow. However, when the Swift works (which is most of the time), it really works well!

Bill,
IMHO, with the low pressure you use, the Aura should be perfect. I could have used it last night on 10 without the extra support the panythose leg gives, but it's such a wonderful and comfortable security factor that I left it on. This morning, when I removed it, it wasn't leaking at all anyway. But I went back to my medium pillows and they seem to work better than the larges.
Beth,
I am anxious for your writeup when you get the Aura and use it. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Thanks Lori, that's what I was thinking too. However I finally broke down today and ordered the Aussie heated hose, so I'll have to wait a bit before ordering another mask.Sleepless on LI wrote:IMHO, with the low pressure you use, the Aura should be perfect.
I have too many expensive hobbies competing for my time and $$$. The only good news about CPAP is most of that time is when I can't do anything else (in my sleep) .

This is not the only place to get one, but you can see what it is from that link.

Lori gave the link. Be forewarned the double edge is rather firm, and some complain it is too high. I have the mini version also and it is soft and cuddly. The main point is they both hold a good edge to keep the interface off the pillow. I know my regular bed pillow was a problem initially with just about any interface I tried leaking. Good luck!
Pap Pillow
Well I checked out the pap pillow (thanks to Lori for the link). Amazing what's out there. We must be quite a market force at 4 or 5% of the population. It is really hard for me to make an assessment of that pillow from the pictures and the little data that was available. I can only assume that it's not bad, but I have been sleeping with one of those Tempur pillows for about 10 years now and I'd rather fight than switch. But who knows, maybe I'll get a chance some day to see one first hand...

Yep, with the Aura coming, the pillow shouldn't make any difference if the Aura works for you. Besides, you've got one of those tempur-things, and that seems to be a popular pillow option in this forum, too. No need to try anything just yet - but do promise to share your experience with the Aura. Mine should be here tomorrow....
