Hello everyone. I got my machine yesterday and tried to use it last night. After I turned it on and got the mask situated the air would turn off for a brief time and then turn back on. I would start to feel like I couldn't breath (I have the nose mask) Is this normal? I have the REMstar-Auto-CPAP-Machine-and-Humidifier
thanks,

Re: New CPAP machines
Hi,
Without seeing what was going on, it is kind of hard to say anything conclusive. Can you set up your profile and list your machine and mask make and model?
How about describing what happened in a little more detail. For example, did the pressure drop off just once? Or did it drop off in a repeated pattern? One possibility is that the machine detected excessive leaks, and couldn't keep up. Or the hose might have been kinked, or there might have been a blockage. It is also possible that this was exhale relief where it would let up after 3 seconds so you can breathe out a bit easier.
What is your prescription? What did the doctor request for type of machine, and what pressure levels? Can you look at the display when the machine is running and tell me what the pressure numbers are? Sorry for the 21 questions, but this info is the key to figuring out what was going on.
