Can bad compliance cause daytime dizziness?

Post by Abby » Thu Oct 29, 2009 8:35 pm

Hi,

Can bad compliance (ie not using my cpap) cause daytime dizziness? I have been experiencing bouts of daytime dizziness (feeling like I am going to pass out, but I never have) and I was wondering if this could be related to not using my CPAP.

P.S. I know I should be using my cpap nightly, but I fell off the wagon many months ago as I wasn't feeling refreshed in the morning after using it and I was having mask issues. I've decided that it's time to get back on track, so I am going to start using it faithfully tomorrow.

Thanks for any feedback you share!

Tomorrow is a day that never comes, today is here, any chance you'll start tonight then see if your dizziness goes away!

Untreated OSA can result in harm to both your heart and your brain, either of which can cause dizziness.

Hi Abby

I cannot answer your question, but both you and I know what untreated Obstructive Sleep Apnea can cause.

I am glad that you are going to get back on the machine, but you should really look on the machine as a necessity, not a choice. And any difficulties that turn up (as they always do) as challenges to be met.

Whether or not sleep apnea can cause dizziness, I think it's a symptom you really need to discuss with your physician. There are multiple possible causes of dizziness. Don't rely on internet advice for this one - see your doc. And, start using your CPAP!
