It is interesting that in Switzerland it is not possible for the patient to change the settings on his CPAP. The doctor has to do it for you. This to me smacks of the medical monopoly protecting its own interests. I am sure that there are some issues with CPAP that one needs to take into account, but this is not rocket science and I am fairly certain that most of us have the smarts that it takes to correctly adjust our own machines. From some of the posts that I have seen here, many of you do just that.
My doctor wants me back in 3 months for a followup titration study and I can't help but think that this is one of the reasons that he has so far refused to put my machine into autopap mode. I would very much like to become an independent and with the use of the software etc. start taking care of myself.
So today I called the Respironics importer for Switzerland and asked him how to change the programming. He refused to divulge the information. All he would tell me is that it is a particular combination of keys on the machine that need to be pressed in a certain way in order to get into the programming mode.
Is there anyone out there who can help me out with this information, ie what mantra do I need to recite in order to get into the programming mode for my machine?
Many thanks.
David

Either that or that's what she wanted you to think so you wouldn't bug her to tell you how to do it.wkwchau wrote:Same as in Canada.
The funny thing is that even the technician in the sleep lab did not know how to setup the pressure on my PB420s machine. I have to tell her how to do that after my followup titration study.

I don't think she just pretend. The lab I go to always direct patients to the company that only sell the ResMeds products. I am lucky enough to find this forum otherwise I have to settle with a bigger CPAP machine.Either that or that's what she wanted you to think so you wouldn't bug her to tell you how to do it.
