Hello,
I'm new to this board, and thought I'd see if I could get some good advice from the group. I've been using my CPAP regularly now for almost three years and won't sleep with out it. I use a Resperonics SoloLX and a Fisher & Paykel HC150 heated humidifier.
I often don't turn the heating unit on on the humidifier, particularly in the summer time as I find I like the cooler air. If I do turn it on it is usually at the lowest setting.
My challenge is that I travel extensively (50% +) and I want to minimize the space my CPAP equipment takes up. I usually pack my CPAP inside my rolling carry-on bag and still have enough room for about two days of clothing.
I know I could carry the bag separately and the airlines are not supposed to count it as an additional carry-on bag, but I find it's just easier to pack it inside my carry-on.
Recently my travel schedule has changed and I take less frequent longer trips. I was thinking of purchasing a smaller unit separately for travel. The GoodKnight 420 series looks ideal. Does anyone have any experience with this machine? I understand there is also a cold air humidifier that works with the series also...any experience with it?
Thanks for any feedback.

Hi jpm,
The Puritan Bennett Goodknight 420's are superior machines and ideal for travel. Not only are they small and light but they also run directly on DC current (with the proper cord). There is an integrated heated humidifier that is suppose to be out SOON!
Here's a picture:

If you travel, this is the unit for you!

I travel often with my Resmed Spirit. I recently purchased a PB 420E. One thing you must know about the 420. If you pack it in your suitecase you will need to pack more clothing . There is so much more room for clothes that if you dont bring more the 420E will just slide around . This has other drawbacks. The extra clothes you bring will cause the bag to weigh more. This isnt good if you travel many discount airlines as they have a smaller allowance for luggage. On Ryanair that little extra might cost you a fortune in excess baggage fees. They only allow 15 Kilos. A few extra pairs of jeans and your busted. This never happpened with my Spirit cause it used all the space in my bag.
