Rested Gal Style Categories By Thread Now Available

Howdy cpaptalkers,

Our header is getting crowded and a redesign will occur sooner than later. However, we're not going to let a little thing like being out of room stop cpaptalk development!

You may have noticed Rested Gals "threads of threads" posts. She's attempting to bring some order to the CPAPtalking universe. We like order too and have built some software we think will help out.

Please click on the red question mark above or visit this link:

cpaptalk-faq.php

Users who are logged in can add categories and can associate threads or websites with those categories.

As always, all users, logged in or not, have access to the FAQ.

We're still working this up, but we know there is a demand, and thought a lot of cpaptalk vets would be pretty excited, so we're release our beta version now and look forward to making improvements as its used.

We look forward to feedback.

Johnny

Thanks, Johnny!

I understand that this being "beta" for the time being, the mask links you have put on there are just for testing purposes...not actually to the "best" or most informative discussions about those particular masks.

I've sent you a PM with a couple of suggestions about how to figure out which discussion topics might be good to include in the red question mark FAQ.

Good job.

Way to go, Rested Gal, and Johnny for having the good sense to recognize a great idea when he sees one.

PS: Special recognition to Neversleeps who thought up the idea of making Rested Gal's link-related threads a permanent fixture on the site in her August 25th post:

  • Hey Johnny??? How about making this a sticky topic? It could forever be at the top of the posts for our reference (and of great assistance to newcomers)!

As Rested Gal would say, "Good lab ratting!"

Thank you for working hard to make this site even better. For me, it is the best forum there is for people seeking apnea information, support and help. It has some very nice and helpful people that are willing to take the time to share their ideas and exeriences with others that have the same medical problem.

Categories overdue

Hey Johnny,

Glad to see an attempt at categories.

My suggestion is putting all software in one category. That could cover Encore Pro, Silverlinig (sic), MyEncore, card readers (hardware), install problems, etc.

Why not a section for newbies? Wouldn't new newbies like to see what other newbies are asking about?

Greetings,

SnoreNoMore: the beauty of the new FAQ section is that you don't have to suggest to me what to do, you can just do it.

#1 Log In

#2 Click the red Question Mark

#3 Click "Add a FAQ Category"

#4 Name it what you please

#5 Add relevant categories to it.

Every registered user now has the power to shape cpaptalk into what they'd like to see it become.
