I've been fighting a Cold of Doom the last week or so and the last two nights have been pretty bad. I've woken up a few times and I've managed to take my mask off! I've only been on CPAP a few months but I was doing really well.
The problem - I think - is that I find it hard to breathe through my mouth with the pressure on, but my nose is totally blocked so I can't breathe through that either!
I'm hoping to feel better in the next few days - I've been taking all the stuff you're supposed to take and my fever is minimal - but I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem and how you solved it. Thanks!

It happens, Theresa. Colds and sinus infections are the bane of xpap therapy--one really feels awful for a while. Hang in there, and take whatever meds work for you, and be as compliant as the cold will allow you to do so.

Are you using a FF mask? There maybe enough of us here with flu/virus we could start group I have the flu (nasal & chest congestion, fever, pink eye, asthma flare, tornadic coughing) I'm mostly surprised at the ability to use my FF mask with ease. Could you be having a little psychological block? If you are unable to breathe through your nose when awake, you may just be more focussed on your mouth breathing after you put the mask on. I think it's a harder to put something over mouth/nose when breathing is comprised with cold/flu anyway!!!!
Be well.
