CPAP History Buffs?

Post by headbored » Wed Oct 21, 2009 6:31 pm

Here is a question for those that have had sleep apnea for a extended time, approx. when were cpap machines first used and what year did they start to sell cpap machines to patients?

Rooster
I have a vision that we will figure out an easy way to ensure that children develop wide, deep, healthy and attractive jaws and then obstructive sleep apnea becomes an obscure bit of history.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ycw4uaX ... re=related

Great link Rooster, myself being a newbe I would have bet that you would have the answer.I asked the question because I always remember a young man several years older than myself who had sleep apnea in the early 70's and died and I always wondered if something could have been done to prevent his death.

Rooster

Yet again you come up trumps

Great story & one I sure hadn't seen before. I guess Sullivan's discovery is gaining greater traction in the world of medicine. As for a Nobel price - he sure gets my vote.

Cheers

Thanks, Rooster. I really enjoyed reading that article.
Now I hope another great inventor will come along and improve on the funky contraption we all are tethered to at nite.
